I hope you have some COP pesos left from your previous trip. If you have been to Bogota, you'd know never to exchange money at the airport. You are bound to get at least 15% less. Try not to use the ATMs at the airport as well. Their exchange rate is worse than those in town.
Once you are in town, your best bet is getting COP from ATMs. Hopefully you already have a bank card that doesn't have foreign exchange surcharges and rebate your ATM withdrawal fees.

@FuManChu gave great advice all around but I'll add a few things

1 - One, he is spot on in the financial advice regarding ATMs. And regarding the exchange places, that link is good too since they link out to the places that put their rates online so you can price shop before you go.

Personally I just use my Schwab to pull money out of the ATM and I get the price in between the spread, so basically better than out of any money exchange place. But if you do go to a money exchange place, use his links from that article.


2 - ATV, Paintball, Horseback, Zipline, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Waterfall tours, Various Downtown/City tours (on bike or foot), etc. Plus a bunch of different food tours (coffee, exotic fruit) if that is your thing. Some tours mix many of these. Some downtown tours mix in street/local food, etc.


3 - Just to add, if you are getting your own condoms, buy in country too. Don't bring a bunch with you through customs. Easy way to get turned around.

Unfortunately, Loutron one of the only ones that I have never found a working website on. Their google info should be accurate because I've noticed it changes from time-to-time, such as the hours etc. If you put their number in your phone you'll get the correct current photo in your WhatsApp. The address is correct to.

As for review, a couple guys have reviews, but their results were mixed. As always, YMMV, and we just don't have enough guys going there AND writing reviews.

I'll add to this based on other reviews that I can't find but do remember (+ personal experience): Valeria is a dead lay ("vaca muerte") which is a shame because she was pretty with a great body. Vanesa was great but everything covered. Most of the upcharges there are WAY higher than other places.

If you want casas with good girls but much better pricing, you may want to check one of the other popular casas. But the key is to get a well reviewed girl so you know she meets the service too. The good thing is that the prices are much cheaper so you can try a few different girls for the same price.

If you want to take a gamble on Loutron, you can also take a gamble on the high-end agencies. I've never heard of a drugging or theft from MALC, La Celestina, Las Nenas, etc. You are probably pretty safe booking from them. The problem with Luna Lunera is that in this forum many people (Locals and Foreigners) have said that Luna Lunera was high pressure to spend money also. And I haven't seen one good review about a girl/service. Perhaps someone can share a name if they have one?

So while it is less than Loutron, their high pressure tactics don't make it that much cheaper. And we have no reviews of the girls there either so there is now knowledge bonus like we get with the other places. I think most would rather do Angeles, EE, Eclipse, Chicas Plus, etc.

But if OP really wants to check out Loutron, it is also by some good restaurants (Colosal, Marmaleo) so perhaps he'd might go up there anyway.

1. Arrived at MDE airport with a full flight from the states, although most travelers look like Colombians. Took about 30 mins to clear immigration, fortunately no questions, no bag check, very smooth.

2. The exchange rate at the airport is 1 usd to 3000 pesos, so it's better to use ATM or western union.

3. Uber to the hotel was showing $30 but waited 10 mins and no driver took it. So took the taxi and paid $40 (130 thousand). Well, one 20 thousand change was fake bill and recognized by the restaurant later. Will leave it as a souvenir.

4. Hotel Dix allows one free guest per day and will charge the additional guest. Saw an old guy was registering and paying for a little girl who seems just 18 years old. Solute to the grandpa who can do two girls a day, lol. The receptionist photo copied the girl's ID and also required the girl's fingerprint. Good!

5. My un poco espanol needs improvement.

6. Saw a model level cashier at nearby Exito. Wish I could stay longer to date her, haha.

At least no rush, has AC. With a wingman, caution, and hotel registration, the risk to take a girl from the park could be limited though.

6. Communa 13 and Guatape tours are worth the time and money. Highly recommend.

7. Viagra/Cialis can be found at all drugstores and no need prescription. The authentic ones are around $10 per tablet.

Also the streets are all busy so hard to tell where bullshit stops and the good stuff starts. I also saw the stores in Jose Maria airport selling viagra and condoms, haha. The price is almost doubled than the drug stores in town.

This trip was little tight of time. Look for the next trip to explore more casas, girls etc. Girl wise, I think it is good and worth the trip considering the distance to Medellin, the cost of living and girl. South East Asia, like Indonesia, is a better option but too far for travel.
