Hey guys,

Me and my friends are planning to go to Medellin for a week late April and just wanted some suggestions and tips.

It will be around 6 of us going and we already have a Airbnb and decided not to bring any chicas over just to be on safe side.

We want to do Stip club at least once to celebrate, Fase II and La Isla are most popular so open to ideas which one is better

We know this are most expensive strip clubs but if there are other ones you guys recommend that are more affordable we would go to them maybe another day


As far as clubs and stuff are the girls in there almost entirely working girls? If so how does it work we just be direct about intentions or just buy drinks and see where it goes?



I planned the spending budget for the week to be $1000, is that a good budget?

I have went to "La Isla" a couple times now, it is not that expensive, but you must keep a few things in mind.

- Drinks are quite expensive here, so I recommend drinking a bit before going so you will not spend a lot of money in liquor.

- There is an absurd quantity of ladies there, I highly recommend that you go with COP $250.000 in cash, which is around (US $65), with this cash, you can change it for $2.000 COP bills to tip the girls so you can ask them to give you a small show, be with you for a few minutes, or simply compensate her for the general show.

- If you stay until they close at 02:00, There is another club right behind it until 07:00 or so, so you can stay longer, which I recommend.

- Avoid private sexual encounters with the girls here, it is not worth unless you are full "yolo" mindset, if you want to be with a girl, look for a good recommendation here at the forum that Will not be that expensive.

For food spots I personally recommend a site called "Tamagotchi" in El Poblado, they serve excellent quality food, a little expensive but not that much, ask for a bottle of "Sake" which is an alcoholic drink with soft flavour that you can take easily with the food.

They have a good amount of dishes to try and everything is very tasty so don't be afraid asking for something strange.

For the other places I think that you can get better recommendations from Google or TripAdvisor.

Coming a little late to this thread, but if you're all a bunch of single guys coming, the airport authorities will be scrutinizing you. This is a pretty recent phenomenon, but it is real. They turn away single guys all the time under suspicion of sex tourism, so I suggest having a straight story about what specific tourist sights you want to see and cultural events you want to take in.

I have a very good German friend who returned to the country for probably his fourth time and during airport processing they heavily questioned him on what he was doing here. Keep in mind that he has used Medellin as his home base while traveling abroad and they still put him through the ringer, even going through years' worth of photos on his phone.

If you bring condoms, bring a small amount or none at all; they sell plenty here. I highly suggest you not bring any sex toys or anything that could be interpreted as sexual. Good luck.

Do they look through your checked luggage? I wouldn't bring sex toys but some viagra. Are they also tough on tourists flying from Europe?

More likely they will ask you for a quick look of your luggage, you can also get the pill here so better avoid having issues and instead, purchase everything you may need here from a pharmacy.

Like I said, they hassled my German buddy, so I don't think being from Europe gets you a pass.

What I don't understand about this is prostitution is a legal activity, and it's very much in your face anytime you engage in nightlife or the dating apps here. Now they're starting to act like it's an illegal, forbidden act only done by perverted foreigners.

Could you imagine Amsterdam rejecting tourists because they expressed interest in visiting the red light district and a few cannabis shops? Just laughable.

Hola bro, tengo dos preguntas, cuál es el club que está detrás de la Isla y abre hasta las 7:00 a.m.? Por qué dices que hay que evitar el contacto sexual con las chicas de allá, es por avivatas o qué?
